Richard Lowden is widely recognized as one of the world’s most experienced leaders in vehicle rental franchising, with more than 34 years dedicated to developing fully franchised rental brands across Europe and globally. His expertise in franchise development, brand growth, and operational strategy has enabled him to successfully scale international mobility networks within one of the most competitive sectors of the travel and transportation industry. In 2007, Richard founded Green Motion, an eco-focused vehicle rental brand that has grown to operate in over 70 countries with more than 700 locations worldwide. By combining sustainability-driven initiatives with the adoption of advanced technologies, he successfully disrupted a traditionally congested marketplace and carved out a distinctive position for Green Motion within the global rental landscape. More recently, Green Motion acquired the American car and truck rental brand U-Save, originally established in 1979. Under Richard’s leadership, the brand has expanded from a presence in seven countries to 25 and growing, positioning the Green Motion Group among the top six car rental brands worldwide and reinforcing its status as the world’s largest dedicated franchise car rental company. Richard remains committed to advancing innovation across his group of brands while ensuring franchisees and partners remain at the forefront of mobility.
